At The Prom Closets, our goal is to provide prom dresses, accessories, and beauty services to young women in underprivileged communities, allowing them to feel beautiful on their memorable day! We gather donations of new or gently used dresses and accessories year-round, distributing them to various high schools each spring.
The Prom Closets is not just a project for me; it's a passion I’m so proud of. It was sparked by my mother's remarkable resilience throughout her battle with breast cancer. Witnessing her consciously choose gratitude over resentment changed my perspective on life. It made me realize the blessings I have, including the unconditional love of my mother, who is also my best friend. I’m privileged to afford nice things, and I felt compelled to turn my gratitude into action, spreading positivity in the face of adversity. Thus, The Prom Closets was conceived—a program dedicated to offering underprivileged high school students the chance to revel in the joy of prom. By donating dresses and fostering an environment where they feel beautiful and confident, we aim to empower these students to embrace their uniqueness. My mother's journey taught me that even amid life's darkest moments, there exists an unwavering light of hope and resilience. Through The Prom Closets, I endeavor to pay forward the kindness and strength she so courageously embodied.
